The 8th annual State of the Tobacco Control: 2009 report was released on January 12, 2010. This national report card analyzes state tobacco control laws in four key areas-smokefree air, tobacco control program funding, cigarette taxes and youth access to tobacco. Oregon scored the following grades: an "A" in smokefree air due to the new smokefree workplace law, a "D" for tobacco tax, an "F" in tobacco prevention and control spending, and a "B" for smoking cessation coverage.
