Oregon has 17 community colleges, each with its own policy on tobacco use on campus. The American Lung Association in Oregon (ALAO) supports tobacco-free campus initiatives at all colleges and universities - all students, staff, and visitors should have the right to breathe clean air and enjoy a healthy campus environment regardless of where they happen to be enrolled or employed.
15 of Oregon's 17 community colleges have policies exceeding the Oregon Smokefree Workplace Law's minimum requirements (no smoking indoors or within 10 feet of any entrance, exit, window that opens, air intake, or accessibility ramp extending from an entrance).
