Resources for Tobacco Use Prevention, Education, and Cessation Support

   

Successful tobacco-free policies are complemented by programs and services to educate the campus community about the hazards of tobacco use and secondhand smoke, and to help people quit tobacco.

Tobacco Prevention & Education

Oregon Tobacco Education Clearinghouse – Oregon colleges can order educational materials and Quit Line brochures. All materials and shipping are free.

Tobacco Cessation

Oregon Tobacco Quit Line – The Quit Line is a free telephone service available to all Oregon residents who want to stop using tobacco. The Quit Line offers free quit information, one-on-one telephone counseling, and referrals for you or a loved one. Callers may also be eligible to receive free nicotine replacement therapy products. Call 877-270-STOP (7867); or Spanish: 877-2NO-FUME; or TTY: 877-777-6534. Hours of operation are every day, 5am-9pm.

Freedom From Smoking – The American Lung Association of Oregon offers trainings for facilitators of this tobacco cessation program. Call 503-718-6143 or email healthinfo@lungoregon.org to find out more and add your name to the list to participate in the next training (date to be determined).
